Accessibility Statement for Newson Art

Last updated: October 2025

At Newson Art, we are committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability, technology, or circumstance.
We aim to make our online experience welcoming, inclusive, and easy to use for everyone.

Our commitment

We strive to comply with recognised best-practice accessibility standards, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, voice recognition software, or alternative input devices.

Measures we take

To ensure accessibility, we:

  • Use clear and consistent heading structures to aid screen-reader navigation.

  • Maintain sufficient colour contrast between text and background to improve readability.

  • Provide alt-text descriptions for images that convey meaning or context.

  • Use plain, descriptive language in our content wherever possible.

  • Design the website to be keyboard navigable, without reliance on a mouse.

  • Regularly review and test our website on different devices and browsers.

  • Follow responsive-design principles so content displays clearly on desktop, tablet, and mobile.

Known limitations

While we work hard to ensure accessibility, we recognise that some areas of the site may not yet be fully optimised:

  • Some older image galleries may not yet include full descriptive alt text.

  • Embedded content from third parties (e.g., social media feeds, video players, external forms) may not meet our accessibility standards in full.

  • Some downloadable files (e.g., older PDFs) may not be fully accessible to screen readers.

We are actively working to review and improve these areas.
If you encounter any accessibility issues, please let us know so we can resolve them.
